TYRONE LOSINGHAM FIRED!!!!!!

Since the point of this website was only to get Ty Willingham fired, this will likely be my last blog entry (unless I get really drunk after one of the remaining games). We did it. Well, mostly I did it. A few others jumped on the bandwagon late in the game, but I have been diligently working on this issue for over a year now. Anyway, I won't be posting any more. Nothing about who should be the next coach, I will leave that to the other sites like UW Dawg Pound UWFootball Blog DawgBlawg and the rest. I will just continue to celebrate and wait for the "donations" to roll in from weathly boosters who want to show their gratitute to me by writing large checks in my name. But hell, I deserve it. I went above and beyond the normal call of duty on this one. VICTORY!!!!!

He's Gone...Thank the Lord Almighty

TY WILLINGHAM RESIGNS!!!!!

Please do not hesitate to shower me with gifts or financial rewards. As I am sure you are all aware, it was my website, www.byebyety.com that ultimately led him to resign. Yes, that's right, I am taking full credit for driving Ty Willingham to quit as the coach of the UW.

NOTRE DAME 33 -- UW 7

Officially "BOWL IN-ELIGIBLE".
I know this probably comes as a shock to all of you who have been hiding under a rock for the past 2 months, but it's true. The Huskies are 0-7 and Ty Willingham has still not been fired. If not for a mercy touchdown (would you expect any less from the Irish?) we would have been shut out at home by a mediocre ND team. The boys from South Bend rolled into Sea-town...blasted us on our own home field and boarded the plane back home. I doubt they even took the game seriously. They were in control from the very start, I think we only had like 40 yards of offense in the first half.
It is starting to get repetitive, but please FIRE TY WILLINGHAM. Do no wait. Give us something, just a little hope to cling to this season. Someone to look forward to. I am terrified we might end up losing to WSU and finish 0-12 at this rate.

PREDICTION....NOTRE DAME 34 -- UW 17

After the loss to ND, we will officially be "Bowl In-Eligible". So does that mean that Woodward can pull the plug on Ty at that point? The season is a disgrace and the manner in which the UW is handling TY and the losing is becoming a national joke. The only reason ND won't blow us out this weekend is because they aren't really that good either.

I am starting to feel ashamed to even tell people I am an alumnus of the UW because I know the cracks about our failed football team will follow. TY must go and things will get better.

Here is the worst part. Every player and coach at WAZZU has the Apple Cup game circled on their schedule. They know it is their best shot at salvaging a little redemption on the season. Knowing that they cast the final blow on the first ever modern era winless season (0-12) for UW will be motivation. WSU has alot of in-state players and the hatred for the purple and gold will play a factor. I hate the fact that we could go 0-12. For a BCS school that has won a national championship within the last 20 years, that is a disgrace.

WHY DO I EVEN BOTHER

FINAL SCORE....OREGON STATE 34 - UW 13

Why do I even bother. We are 0-6. We have the longest losing streak in the country. Who is even listening. Does anyone even care. Woodward, is your head just full of rocks? Do something with this guy named Ty Willingham. He is a loser. I can't watch any more...

Prediction... Oregon St 48 - UW 47

Wow, I cannot believe that I am predicting this close a game, especially after what OSU did to Wazzu last week. But, I think the offense will catch some breaks at home and lose a heart breaker. Am I going soft? Nope--a loss is still a loss and this particular one will make us 0-6 on the season.

Win or lose, I think it is time that some of the players on the team may need to step forward and start expressing their feelings on the Ty Willingham situation. They all know he is gone and certainly finding the best possible replacement is on the top of their concerns list. I think the only way we get Woodward to pull the trigger on this mid-season is if the players come to him directly. I hate that it has come to this, but other programs are already getting the jump on the hiring process. Clemson fired a VERY SUCCESSFUL Tommy Bowden (and players had I hand in this decision, I think) and Auburn fired their Offensive Coordinator midway into his first season.
We all need to work together for the greater good. With the Mizzou loss, a little of the luster may have faded from Gary Pinkel's star. Perhaps another defeat and they will not quite be as excited to up the ante to keep him.

Dear Athletic Director...

ACTUAL EMAIL AND RESPONSE FROM UW ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
This following was a response to an email sent to Mark Woodward by class of '92 alumnus Mitchell T. We need more people to express their disgust in this manner. We all know TY will be fired after the season, but we need it happen now. Waiting will only cause more irreparable damage to the program.

Dear Mr. T########,

Thank you for taking the time to write. There isn’t a Husky football fan who isn’t frustrated with the way the season has gone so far, and yours comes through loud and clear. Thank you again for writing.

Subject: Fire Woodward and Emmert too!

It has come to a point where Emmert and Woodward should make the fans ire and be looked at being replaced,Every game that goes by Ty ruins our the 2009 recruiting class and on. And Woodward has an arrogance to how he responds to the situation with Ty. Our ticket sales, boosters and such are what supports the programs at the DUB and we deserve a little respect and action that shows our voices are being heard. In all the years around this program I can’t believe I have ever witnessed such miss-management from the top to the bottom. Everyone wants to blame someone else, Lambright, Neuhiesel , Gilbright, but Ty, Woodward and Emmert, have been here to forge some serious change, but if anything we are the worst this school has ever been. The team has given up, the coaching staff SUCKS, and the fans have bailed. What’s left, but maybe losing to South Lake Carrol!!!

Lets All Hope The Seahawks Keep Losing

Perhaps with a bad enough Seahawk season, Jim Mora will decide that following in Mike Holmgren's footsteps to lead a struggling NFL team is not really all he thought it would be. Sure, it was one thing when they were considered a perennial Superbowl contender--but the way this season is going, 8-8 might be a tough putt. So as the Seahawks continue to implode, his supposed UW DREAM JOB begins to look more and more attractive. The chance to build a legacy. No expectations for immediate success. Taking over a program at the bottom, he will have no where to go but up. Whereas the Seahawk franchise & fan base has an established expectation that they contend every season...which may not be possible in the coming years. Just think about it...which one comes with more job security and lower expectations? And isn't that what we all look for in a career?

Props to
Husky Half Brains where I stole this picture from. And on a separate note, I am not going to jump on the bandwagon about how TY burned the kids redshirts in the Arizona game. I probably will later, just not yet. Although I do think he did it out of spite--which is really classless. I hope they at least see significant playing time the rest of this lost year.

Disgracefull - Arizona 48 - UW 14

DO NOT LET TY WILLINGHAM ONTO THE TEAM PLANE BACK TO SEATTLE!
Scott Woodward should fire him in the locker room in front of the entire team. This is just another disgusting embarrassment for our Huskies. We are now 0-5 and facing the prospect of WAZZU being the only game we might win...and that might be a stretch even. The time is now. There is no reason to wait. I truly thought the offense would do a little more this week, but nope--still anemic as ever even against a bottom tier Pac-10 team that let New Mexico put up 36 and beat them. At this point I think Donatell and Lappano maybe should be dismissed as well. Maybe let someone like Randy Hart take them to the finish line while they begin the search process IMMEDIATELY.

This cannot be left to continue for 7 more games. Too much damage is being done. The players and the fans need some hope to cling to as the season trudges on. The promise of a new coach would at least give a glimmer of hope for the future. Right now, permanent damage to the program is being done that maybe not be reversible for a LONG TIME.

PREDICTION ARIZONA 51 - UW 34

Man, they are going to lay some serious points on us this game I think. The real question will be weather TY is FIRED after another embarrassing loss (and going into a bye week).

Alot of lists floating around cyberspace as to the best replacements for Willingham. Some are realistic, some would require an intervention by Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny.

For my money, I really think we need to stick with someone with local ties or at least from the west coast. I do not agree with importing someone from the east like Skip Holtz. I think we need someone young, enthusiastic & local. The UW has had a revolving coaching door since DJ left...I think most important is to bring in someone who wants to make this their final stop. Chris Petersen might be that guy. Or with enough money maybe Mora could be persuaded to pass up the NFL in favor of starting his legacy at the UW. Just take a look at what Mike Bellotti has built at Oregon....we need that.

Couple good blogs to check out: DAWGBLAWG and UW DAWG POUND
Both of these bloggers have put together great sites (and clearly have more time to work on them then I do)

UW HIRED A NEW COACH?

Did they hire someone without us knowing? No, I think it's just wishfull thinking. For the love of god, fire Ty Willingham already. Thank you to David H for sending this picture and helping with a little positive karma. FIRE HIM! FIRE HIM! FIRE HIM!

Jay posted this as the booster wish list for potential replacements:
1. Jim Mora, Jr (Seahawks coach to-be)
2. GaryPinkel ($$ talks, but so does a national championship team)
3. Lane Kiffin (defensive minded coach is what we need--and available now)
4. Pat Hill (Certainly built a winner at Fresno)
5. Scott Linehan (newly available and probably done with the NFL)
6. Dave Christensen (The Offensive genius at Missouri- former UW player)

I would add Chris Petersen to the mix. Or could we talk Dennis Erickson to returning to the NW? In all seriousness, there is truly no telling what Mora would say once offered the job. The Seahawks might be 5 years of security, but he knows the UW position could be his legacy. As for Gary Pinkel...that would be a tough sell, but I think he would return for the right circumstances. Provided he doesn't win the BCS, our boosters have deeper pockets and they could make an offer he can't refuse. Let's not wait any longer--pull the trigger and let's fire up the search.

Unbelievable....We lost TWICE to Stanford Saturday

FINAL SCORE...Stanford 35 - UW 28
In my opinion, we really lost twice Saturday. Not only did we lose one of the very few games we were favored in this year, but it appears we may have lost Jake Locker for the remainder of the season. No offense intended for Fouch, but how do we plan to win a game now after losing 70% of our total offense? This has to be the last straw. They have got to fire him NOW. What is the point in limping along further after a defeat (at home) like this? Cut him lose Monday and get first in line to pick up the best coach available (that they can talk into cleaning up this mess). DO NOT wait until the end of the season and let someone else swoop in on the good ones. Make your play for Chris Petersen or whomever right now. Maybe Dennis Erickson should be on the radar? Go for someone with local ties. Gary Pinkel might be out of play now, but at least lure the carrot (if he loses a couple). But for god's sake take some action on this debacle. This is an embarrassment...TY WILLINGHAM MUST BE FIRED!!!!

Get Your Ty LOSINGham Shirts

A guy named Peter created this shirt and sent me one. I think it is pretty cool, and I wanted to give him props on making the extra effort to publicize the cause. I think he has some more he can sell you if anyone is interested, just click here to EMAIL HIM and you can work out the details. I will be wearing mine with pride this Saturday!

In regards to the Stanford game, even an extreme Ty pessimist like me still has to predict a victory for our Huskies. As much as I think an 0-4 start would put the final nail in Losingham's coffin, I think they will win. But that is nothing to be proud off. Eking out a win at home against the perennial Pac-10 doormat that is Stanford is not really much of an accomplishment...and god help me if we lose.

Begrudgingly, I predict a victory....UW 31 - Stanford 27

Can You Still Lose a Game on a Bye Week?

CAN YOU LOSE A GAME ON A BYE WEEK?

I don't know, but if there is a way to do it, TY WILLINGHAM will find a way to lose. Right now we are on the fast track to 2-10 and even that might be a stretch. Scott Woodward--now that you are officially the AD--grow a sack and make the call.

OH GOD PLEASE FIRE HIM NOW!

LOSS...OU 55 - UW 14
What can be said about another embarrassing defeat other then FIRE TY WILLINGHAM IMMEDIATELY! Our heralded recruiting classes couldn't stop anyone, or maybe it was our coaching? With the score 34-0 at halftime, Oklahoma rolled to what might have been their easiest ever road victory against a major D1 BCS conference team. Awful is the only word to describe this debacle.

TY Willingham, do you have any pride? If you do, you will resign immediately. You have taken our proud program to depths lower then it is has ever been. Even our worst days with Lambright or Gilbertson were never this bad. You are an embarassment to yourself and the program. No Pac-10 team should EVER lose this badly at home--certainly not us. You are 0-3 and on the fast track to 1-11 this season.

RESIGN-QUIT-LEAVE-GET OUT OF TOWN-HANG IT UP-CAST OFF-WHATEVER....Just get the HELL out of Seattle now and don't ever come back!

PREDICTION = Oklahoma 47 - UW 23

Yes, I am predicting another blowout loss...at home no less. Willingham should feel fortunate that I think he will hold them under 50 points--call it home field advantage.

So here is the question, when UW loses and becomes 0-3 to open the season...will TY WILLINGHAM BE FIRED or will they continue to prolong the misery?

The Rants Are Rolling In...

Check out some of the quality RANTS rolling in. People are pissed and they are tired of the same old Sh*t.

And another thing. Show some damn emotion Willingham. You got the worst call in years and you continue to be stoic and unemotional. Rant, cuss, scream...just do something so that we might think you care.

0-2 and Oklahoma Coming to Town

Ouch! BYU 28 - UW 27
Well, we probably caught a bad break on that call. But before everyone gets all caught up in the injustice of it, just keep in mind it only would have forced overtime. We may have still lost, especially with our kicking game being suspect. Once again, Jake Locker tried to single handily win the game for us. He accounted for nearly 80% of the Huskies total offense. If only Jake could have figured out how to pass to himself...

The real tragedy is that this was BYU we got so hyped up for. Hearken back for a moment to the great Don James era and the days of the Purple Rain (it wasn't really that long ago). Back then, BYU coming to town was just an EXPECTED victory. Sure, they might hang around for a half or so, but there was no doubt we would win the game by a couple touchdowns. Back then BYU was also often an (over)ranked team out of the WAC but never a credible threat to the U-Dub, especially at home. We NEVER expected to lose at home and always felt we could play with any Top10 team on the road. So how did beating BYU become a major accomplishment? Where is our swagger? Where is our pride? People were talking about beating BYU like it was equivalent to taking down Miami back in the day. It's frickin' BYU people! So this to me is the biggest problem with Ty Willingham. Over the past 4 years he has sucked whatever little bit of emotion and confidence we had left out of the program. For all his faults, Rick Neuheisal or even Jim Lambright had passion for the game and it showed. Who the hell knows what TY thinks or or is feeling...that constant look of indifference is intolerable and I personally think it has rubbed off on the rest of the team.

PREDICTION....UW 20 - BYU 45

I am going to give the Huskies the benefit of the doubt and say that playing at home will help them to a little better showing then on the road at Oregon. But the end result will be the same and coaching (lack of) will be the key factor again.

Check out the latest RANT from a PRO-TY dude...here is a little except-- "You spoiled f*cks honestly think that firing Willingham will result in immediate wins? No. Firing the head coach of any team will reset everything back to square 1. Willingham inherited shit for talent and still has managed to somehow recruit 2 top 15 recruiting classes in a row. ..." It is actually reasonably well thought out, so I will be interested to see ya'lls response to it.

Also, win or lose I will have some commentary in the next post on what is really screwed up with how we approached this BYU game.

Slick Neuweasel Wins Opener

First off congrats to Slick Rick for his big time season opening win (more to come below). Secondly, we've got some really good RANTS rolling in so check 'em out and keep 'em coming! Third - We really need some participation on the Message Board...it's like crickets over there.
Now back to Neuheisal. Here's the deal, the guy was a good coach and UCLA made a fantastic move plucking him back from the NFL. He can coach and recruit. But more importantly, he can create buzz, which inspires everyone including his players. How awe inspiring is Ty Willingham? The guy is BOOORRRRRIIINNGGG! The ad in the LA Times tells the whole story. He's got swagger--AND WE NEED IT TOO!
