Dear Athletic Director...

ACTUAL EMAIL AND RESPONSE FROM UW ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
This following was a response to an email sent to Mark Woodward by class of '92 alumnus Mitchell T. We need more people to express their disgust in this manner. We all know TY will be fired after the season, but we need it happen now. Waiting will only cause more irreparable damage to the program.

Dear Mr. T########,

Thank you for taking the time to write. There isn’t a Husky football fan who isn’t frustrated with the way the season has gone so far, and yours comes through loud and clear. Thank you again for writing.

Subject: Fire Woodward and Emmert too!

It has come to a point where Emmert and Woodward should make the fans ire and be looked at being replaced,Every game that goes by Ty ruins our the 2009 recruiting class and on. And Woodward has an arrogance to how he responds to the situation with Ty. Our ticket sales, boosters and such are what supports the programs at the DUB and we deserve a little respect and action that shows our voices are being heard. In all the years around this program I can’t believe I have ever witnessed such miss-management from the top to the bottom. Everyone wants to blame someone else, Lambright, Neuhiesel , Gilbright, but Ty, Woodward and Emmert, have been here to forge some serious change, but if anything we are the worst this school has ever been. The team has given up, the coaching staff SUCKS, and the fans have bailed. What’s left, but maybe losing to South Lake Carrol!!!

Tom's super duper blog and magic show said...

I'm a husky fan/alum and it hurts me to watch UW lose as much as anybody else, but let's get a grip on the 'fire Mark Emmert' language. Keep in mind that the job of the president of UW is not narrowly focused on bringing husky football back to the elite level, but actually leading UW (as a whole) to prominence. He's running a university, not a sports franchise.

The football team will be addressed soon, but let’s not tarnish the image and reputation of UW by acting in haste and clumsily firing Willingham in the middle of a season. Notre Dame was heavily criticized and mocked for how they managed Willingham’s departure. The fact that he underperformed as a head coach hardly mattered because the media and most people reacted to the perception of unfairness towards Willingham. During that drama Notre Dame looked it was being lead by a pack of impulsive monkeys that grasped at straws in order to solver problems, I don't want that for UW.

I do want Ty gone too, and it will happen in good time. The burning of redshirts drama at Arizona suggests that Willingham is desperate and volatile, but we shouldn’t respond in the same way when dealing with him. Honestly, I never really thought that Ty was a good fit for Washington and that’s too bad, but Emmert did what he had to do by hiring Willingham in order to avoid a possible NCAA death penalty. I even remember some people describing the initial Willingham hire as ‘instant credibility’ with the NCAA.

Let's be patient (this will end in Nov/Dec) and not forget Dr Emmert is a fellow husky. He naturally wants the best for Husky football but not at the cost of damaging the university as a whole.

It's all about perception from now until Willingham is eventually fired and we don't want to Notre Dame this...
