OREGON 44 - UW 10
Well, in my prior post I predicted a 40 point blowout. I guess I was way off since they only lost by 34!! But keep in mind that this lopsided loss was engineered by Oregon's second string QB during the 1st half and then by the 3rd/4th stringers during the 2nd half. And it could have been worse if not for some questionable calls that kept the Huskies in the game. Honestly I cannot understand the play calling/strategy. How many times did they try a delay handoff up the middle (for no gain)? Where was the option play to give Jake more running opportunities and to stretch the defense out. (ran only a couple times)?I do not want to be critical of the players because I think alot of the issue is that they were just out played by a more experienced, better coached team. But I do have to single out "special teams" for their downright awful play. The kicking game was absolutely atrocious. Also, Jake Locker looked good, but his receivers didn't do him any favors with alot of dropped passes or bad routes...I think they could improve with experience though.
If the UW can't do better then this showing against a clearly rusty team playing with their scout team QB then it is going to be a REALLY LONG SEASON! 4-8 might be a stretch!!!

I really debated whether to go to bed (Eastern Time) at halftime with a 14-10 scoreline. I clinched my teeth, knowing that it could go either way, but cynical enough to predict a Husky loss.
Sure enough, woke up this morning and unfortunately, was validated.
It boggles the mind that UW football has fallen this low.
